↖ finland works
As a Canadian expat in Finland, working for 10 years in IT, I’ve noticed a pattern:
-
Organizations and teams lose productive hours because they underestimate the ability of motivated employees to leverage existing IT capacity and abilities.
-
They focus on top-down policies instead of decentralized training and empowerment.
-
This makes defending against cybersecurity threat actors more difficult, increases the cost of IT assets, and cripples employee productivity.
None of this is ideal, but it’s the reality on the ground.
When I decided to embrace information security, I increased my impact, and found traction with businesses managing IT challenges. I’m currently working on an OSCP certification to round out skillsets that already include project management and software development.
